Winter Creek Ranch is located in the sleepy village of Ballard which sits centrally between the townships of Santa Ynez and Los Olivos and is adjacent to historic Solvang. This landmark village is home to the ‘Little Red Schoolhouse’ which has been continually in session since the 1800’s. The Cottage at Winter Creek Ranch sits at the back of its’ five acres and offers the most magnificent views of Figueroa Mountain and the Santa Ynez Valley with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms! While relaxing on the deck of the cottage you’ll be charmed by the ranch’s five horses, who chase each other and sun themselves all day long. They are very social and will likely come over and visit with you. Year-round you’ll be greeted by Winter Creek’s two ranch dogs who like to make sure all is in order. In the winter months, you can lounge in front of the cottage’s stone fireplace. The ranch is host to two flowing creeks which attract the local “Ballard Mallards” (ducks) who think the creeks are just for them. Some of the ranch’s neighbors include polo ponies, mules, goats, miniature donkeys as well as a couple of peacocks who stop by every so often…not to mention miles and miles of stunning vineyards and tasting rooms!
Down a long quiet lane, this is a great place for a peaceful walk or a sightseeing bike ride. Just a five minute walk to wine tasting & tidbits at the Ballard Inn. Winter Creek Ranch Cottage is the perfect spot to hide away from the world and unwind or head easily into town for some wine tasting, shopping and maybe line-dancing. Winter Creek Ranch is a little slice of ranch-life heaven in Ballard.
