It is, also, ideal for families of all ages. The three spacious bedrooms all have adjoining full bathrooms. The house is single-story, has wide doors, and the bathrooms were designed to be wheelchair accessible. It has a large fireplace, an outdoor BBQ, a large kitchen with conventional and microwave ovens and a large pantry. You are invited to enjoy the farm setting while lounging on one of two large patios in the front and side yards that overlook rows of vegetable crops and oak trees. The morning sunrise can also be breathtaking from the front porch. The front yard has flowers, plants and walkways shaded by a huge Oak tree.
For the more adventurous visitors, the house is located near the best of Santa Ynez Valley attractions – many restaurants, wineries, several breweries, and the Chumash Casino are all just a few minutes away in Los Olivos, Santa Ynez and Solvang. The house is equipped with High-speed wireless Internet and digital satellite HDTV.
This house is situated in the middle of a working farm. It contains memorabilia from several generations of family farm history dating back to the late 1800’s. Lillian Murphy Eckerman, who originally purchased the property and built the original barn was a teacher in a nearby one-room school house in the mid 1930’s. Her father, Thomas Murphy farmed the adjacent 160 acres that his father purchased from Old Mission Santa Ines in 1903. Her father and brothers also owned a General Store on Segunto Street in downtown Santa Ynez – now Joe Olla Realty.

We truly enjoyed our family vacation to Rancho La Paloma in Santa Ynez. This amazing farmhouse has been updated and is extremely spacious! Our young Boys ran free all over the numerous acres of working farmland. We easily took day trips to Gaviota Beach and Santa Barbara. Our family would stay here again without hesitation. Truly a gem in Santa Ynez Valley!
