Making Reservations

We recommend that you first look through all of the properties on our website and carefully select the vacation home that fits your budget and size requirements. Also consider the location in which you would like to stay. Next, contact us with your preferred dates of stay and vacation home requests.

To book your travel dates and desired property, please contact us and we will make sure to provide you with all of the information you need, and personally assist you with your booking.

When you reserve a vacation home, a reservation is entered into our computerized reservation system under your name, and you are assigned a reservation number. Upon receipt of your completed rental agreement, a fifty percent (50%) payment of your total rental fee is due. The total rental fee, less the fifty percent (50%) initial payment will be charged to the credit card provided in your rental agreement, 30 days prior to your reservation date.

Reservations are not confirmed until Santa Ynez Vacation Rentals has received your rental agreement and credit card authorization form. All reservations must be prepaid by credit card prior to arrival. A credit card is required at the time of booking for all reservations. In the event you need to cancel your reservation, you may do so 30 days or more prior to arrival. Please note that a 15% cancellation fee will be charged to your credit card for all cancellations. You will be charged your reservation balance in full for cancellations within 30 days of your reservation, unless the said property can be rebooked during the previously reserved dates.

Please carefully read the contract and related paperwork and check the accuracy of the dates on your rental agreement. Since you are responsible for this information, please call or email us immediately if any corrections are necessary. All necessary paperwork will be sent to you via Docusign for your completion.

Rate Information

In addition to the nightly rate, you will be charged a twelve percent (12%) transient occupancy tax (12% of nightly rate) and a non-refundable cleaning fee. Please note that a security deposit authorization, in the amount of $1,000-2,000, is required to cover any damages that may occur during your stay. Please see security deposit information below for more details.

Fifty percent (50%) of your total rental fee is due upon receipt of your completed rental agreement. The total rental fee, less the fifty percent (50%) initial payment will be charged to the credit card provided in your rental agreement, 30 days prior to your reservation date.

Check In/ Check Out

Check In is anytime after 2:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival. Check Out time is 11:00 a.m. on the day of your departure.

Housekeeping

Your reserved property will be cleaned and supplied with bed and bath linens prior to your arrival. If you would like additional housekeeping service during your stay, arrangements can be made through our office for an additional fee.

A post-occupancy cleaning fee is included in your reservation costs. You are expected to leave the home “broom clean,” which means bagging the trash and placing it in the outside receptacle, cleaning and putting away the dishes, cleaning the barbecue, and generally tidying up, leaving no major messes for the housekeepers to clean up. The cost for any damaged or missing linens and towels will be charged against your security deposit. This is also true for excessive cleaning. The cost for any excessive cleaning that is required after your stay, will be charged against your security deposit.

Amenities

Each vacation home will be supplied with fresh pressed linens for all beds as well as bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths for each guest. Pool towels are also provided for each guest at properties with pools and spas. A “start-up” supply of products is provided such as toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, dish towels, laundry detergent, dish sponge, zip lock bags, aluminum foil, local magazines, coffee, tea, coffee condiments, coffee filters, all purpose cleaner, trash bags, hand soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, and facial tissue.

Maintenance

Santa Ynez Vacation Rentals makes every effort to carefully maintain each vacation home and the equipment therein. Just like in your own home, however, unexpected and/or untimely failures of equipment and appliances may occur. If something is not working properly, please call our office and report the problem. We will attempt to correct the failure as quickly as is reasonably possible, and we ask for your patience and understanding in the interim. We cannot guarantee the condition of televisions, VCRs, stereos, appliances, or other equipment, or the condition of pools and hot tubs/spas. NO REFUND or RATE ADJUSTMENT will be made for mechanical failure of any kind.

Security Deposit

We require and keep on file a credit card  (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) with signed authorization from you in lieu of a security deposit. The credit card will be charged for any excess cleaning, damages to the property and its contents, or other guest expenses incurred during your stay, and any violations of the rental agreement. If the rental property does not experience any of the above, NO charge will be made to your credit card.

Cancellation Policies

In the event that you need to cancel your reservation 30 days or more prior to your arrival date, you will be charged a fifteen percent (15%) cancellation fee. This fee will be charged to the credit card provided in your rental agreement. You will be charged your rental fee (including city occupancy tax fee and cleaning fee) in its entirety for cancellations within 30 days of your reservation, unless Santa Ynez Vacation Rentals can rebook the property during your previously reserved dates.

Occupancy

When selecting your vacation home, please carefully observe the number of people the property sleeps. Each rental property has a maximum occupancy. You must register the number and names of guests occupying the property when completing the reservation paperwork. Children are counted in the total occupancy. Undisclosed guests and/or over occupancy are considered serious violations of your rental agreement and may result in a charge against your security deposit and/or the immediate termination of occupancy without refund. Only responsible adults 30 years or older may contract for rental.

Consideration of Neighbors

Many of our vacation homes are located next to or near the homes of full-time residents. Please be a good neighbor and remain aware of the noise level of your group. Outside, unenclosed areas (decks, patios, porches, yards, etc.) are mandated NO NOISE zones between midnight and 8:00 a.m. If you are renting a home in a condominium complex, the hours for NO NOISE zones are 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., as per the homeowners associations’ regulations. Unruly or loud guest behavior may result in a fine charged against your security deposit.

Pets

We love pets! Pets are allowed at some properties but no pets of any kind shall be permitted at or on the property unless the property is listed as “Pet Friendly” on our website. There is a $25 Pet Fee per night/per pet once approval of your pet has been met. Violation of this policy will result in forfeiture of your security deposit.

No Smoking

ALL of our homes are NON-SMOKING properties. Smoking is not allowed on any property or in any home. Our No Smoking policy is strictly enforced. Our unique vacation home rentals and vacation rental properties in California are designed to make you feel more comfortable during your stay with us.
